Volunteers from Goldman Sacs present in the air monitoring workshop held at Sham Shui Po.
After the CAN staff briefed the volunteers about the effects of air pollution on children and teaching them about how to use the air sensors; they were divided into 3 teams and each team was given a set of maps, monitoring sheets and PM 2.5 sensors to visit the areas highlighted in their maps and monitor the PM 2.5 levels around schools.
The team of volunteers from Goldman Sacs did spot measurements surrounding the schools and came back with the results. Each of the team shared their findings, their results were mapped out and black spots were identified.
There was also a presentation given by a Goldman Sacs staff on a comparative study he had conducted on the pollution levels inside and outside their office in Causeway Bay. The results showed that the levels of PM 2.5 outside were 3.5 times the indoor levels, although the indoor levels were also showing PM 2.5 levels to be above the WHO guidelines.
