Press Release: Clean Air Network welcomes Ms. Christine Loh’s appointment as Undersecretary for the Environment

(12th September, 2012, Hong Kong) Clean Air Network (CAN) is delighted to learn that Ms. Loh is joining the current SAR Government administration as this is a promising indicator of the administration’s determination to finally tackle the serious problem of air quality in Hong Kong. Ms. Loh’s expertise in the field of environmental protection and her extended engagement with various stakeholders make her a welcoming addition to the Government, and CAN is looking forward to effective policy changes that will ensure a safe and sound atmosphere for the health and welfare of every citizen.

While Ms. Loh has resigned from her post as a board member of CAN, we do look forward to working with her in this new capacity. CAN will continue to rigorously monitor and advocate for clean and healthy air for all and we will persist until air quality in Hong Kong satisfies the World Health Organization’s guidelines on what constitutes safe air.
