CAN’S NEWEST SUPPORTERS
LEADING RESTAURANTS TO ASSIST CLEAN AIR NETWORK IN GATHERING SIGNATURES FOR THE PETITION FOR CLEAN AIR
Zuma and Roka will kick off CAN’s petition sign-up campaign at Hong Kong’s leading restaurants on 16 February. For two weeks, staff will don black t-shirts, emblazoned with CAN’s campaign slogan, ”Clean up the air one signature at a time,” at lunch hour, presenting patrons a petition sign-up flyer at the time of bill presentation, so they can conveniently express their support for The Petition for Clean Air. This is a great way to increase the visibility of CAN’s campaign, since the two restaurants regularly play host to Hong Kong’s opinion leaders. Watch this space as many other consumer brands join our petition sign-up drive next month.
YOUTH FILMMAKING PROJECT LAUNCH A BIG SUCCESS
The launch of youth filmmaking project “Clean Air One 1-2-Go”, was a huge success last Saturday. A large crowd of media, onlookers and kids gathered in front of the video screen at Sogo to witness the unveiling of a 2-minute video about air pollution shot by Hong Kong secondary school kids, under the supervision of youth filmmaking NGO, Focus on Film. For this project, 200 students were exposed to filmmaking for the first time during the last half of 2009. The goal: to shoot short films about Hong Kong’s air pollution. To view the video, please click here. The video will air throughout February on the video monitors at Sogo and Times Square.
SCOOP ICE CREAM FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Ben & Jerry’s has chosen CAN to be the beneficiary of this year’s Charity Cone Day, taking place Tuesday, 23 March, 12-8 pm. CAN will receive 100% of the proceeds of sales from that day, with each cone costing only $10. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS at Ben & Jerry’s 6 locations to scoop ice cream too. Please let us know if you’re interested. It’s a great cause, of course, and will be a fun day!
