Dear CAN,
What about delaying each scheduled departure outside peak hour by ONE minute. This would reduce the number of services but with little impact on the waiting passengers – except for more crowded buses on some routes, many are running far below capacity. This would be fair for everybody.
Also I wee no mention of the most obvious solution to our transport woes – staggered working hours. This would also relieve pressure on restaurants and give longer working hours to hourly paid staff.
Go for it CAN
Mary

Totally agree with your stance Mary! Just 1minute to sacrifice per commuter means a better Hong Kong
Push for hybrid double deck buses which are in development in London (http://gas2.org/2010/05/20/london-officially-unveils-hybrid-double-decker-bus-for-the-future/) would get to the root of the problem. HK Government can play an important role in this endeavor – positioning HK to be one of the greenest metropolitan cities in the world.
