Tokwawan resident, Edwin Town has launched the “South Tokwawan Concern Group” to address what he believes to be an air pollution nuisance coming from a cement factory and stone grinding facilities built next to the Grand Waterfront residential complex 10 years ago. The cement factory, which apparently emits a lot of dust, has been in continuous operation for 10 years, due to the renewal of its original temporary license. Moreover, Mr. Town is concerned that future development in that area, related to the Shatin-Central line, will create similar problems. For more information, you can contact Mr. Town at southtkwcg@yahoo.com.hk

The CAN website functions as a bulletin board for news and complaints from the community. Although CAN cannot directly judge the facts or legality of these complaints, we post them on behalf of concerned Hong Kong residents, in order to consolidate and amplify the efforts of Hong Kongers desirous of cleaning up Hong Kong’s air pollution, especially in their specific area. If you live in one of these areas and share the same complaint, we encourage you to get in touch with those who are already working on the same issue.
