Air of consensus not enough to beat smog

A cross-sector consensus has emerged on the need to review the city’s Air Quality Objectives and bring them in line with the World Health Organization’s 2006 guidelines.

After four-months of talking, Secretary for Environment Edward Yau Tang-wah said yesterday: “The consultation report shows in order to reach the goals we must initiate a range of measures. We cannot only implement the easy and forgo the tough ones…”
