Tsang powers up after meeting Xi

In a surprise move, Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen has met with Vice President Xi Jinping, who is tipped to take over from President Hu Jintao in 2012.

The meeting in Beijing took place as Tsang leads a 200-strong delegation to celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

The talks were held before a signing ceremony to extend Hong Kong’s power supply from the Daya Bay nuclear power plant in Guangdong…
