Michael Pieper
Michael Pieper, a Discovery Bay resident has been an active participant in helping to keep Hong Kong green and clean. Locally he has helped DB Green by helping them maintain and expand Discovery Bay’s own conservation area near the lookout.
Michael runs his own website on Hiking in Hong Kong, along with a Facebook hiking group, aptly named “Hiking Hong Kong”. With such a strong connection with nature and keeping fit in Hong Kong, he is eager to see Hong Kong be as green and clean as possible for the sake of his own health, the health of his future children and for the health of all people living in Hong Kong.
Michael also manages his own business in website design, Semtek, which specializes in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC)management. Recently he has helped Clear The Air, a Hong Kong Green Group, by being their webmaster for 3 years up until early 2009. Upgrading their website, adding and maintaining a News, Energy and Tobacco Blog as well as helping them increase membership numbers via their online membership payment form and through social media websites such as Facebook – Clear The Air is now a top source of air pollution information in Hong Kong.
Recently, Michael has helped the Clean Air Network by distributing petitions and posters in Discovery Bay, urging the Government to improve the air quality in Hong Kong.
